‘Only Death Or Incapacity Can Stop Tinubu’s Swearing-In’ – LP Faction Rejects Call For Interim Government

  • The Labour Party’s Lamidi Apapa faction has rejected calls for interim government.

  • They stated that Tinubu’s inauguration has no bearing on the ongoing legal dispute over the presidential election.

  • The faction maintains that the Nigerian Constitution and Electoral Act do not allow for a vacuum and only death or incapacity can prevent the president-elect from being sworn in.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Labour Party’s Lamidi Apapa faction has rejected the proposal for an interim government and the demand to postpone the swearing-in of President-elect Bola Tinubu on May 29th, while the presidential election tribunal reviews the petitions.

The faction believes that Tinubu’s inauguration would have no bearing on the legal dispute over the presidential election, which involves their party, the APC, and INEC.
