The link bridges also include some access roads.
The Governor, however, assuaged homeowners’ fears by stating that the proposed connecting road and bridge would have no impact on their properties, as had been feared.
“The Opebi-Ojota Link Bridge will be inaugurated in January. Julius Berger has been given the job, and I can tell you that no homes will be demolished. There is no demolition on the right of way for that road or the connecting bridge. It’s a swamp, and we’ll be building a bridge. The road and bridge will make travel between Ikeja and Opebi and Ojota much easier “he stated.
It is the project of the Ministry of Works and the Ministry of Transportation.
It is believed that on completion, it will take a lot of traffic from both Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way and Kudirat Abiola Way.
Both the cost of the construction and the duration of work are not known yet.
The Sanwo-Olu government has been investing in mega transportation projects.
Apart from the two rail lines, it has promised to deliver this year, it is also building a road, with bridges, linking Lekki Phase One Town, with VGC in Ajah.
The link road is also billed for completion this year.
