Operation Delta Hawk Officer Allegedly Kills Woman In Asaba

A woman was killed on Tuesday after she was hit by a stray bullet allegedly shot by men of the newly-inaugurated security joint task force in Delta State, Operation Delta Hawk (ODH).

Eyewitnesses said men of the task force were after two occupants of a speeding vehicle when they suddenly opened fire on them on the road.

Unfortunately, the woman who was selling at a corner of the road was hit by a stray bullet and died instantly.

The Coordinator of Operation Delta Hawk, David Tonwe, who confirmed the incident, said the team was in pursuit of a car without a plate number and the driver refused to stop.

The team fired at the vehicle but unfortunately, an unidentified woman was hit by the bullet, killing her on the spot.

Eko Hot Blog recalls that ODH was inaugurated by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and mandated to assist other security agencies in fighting cultism, armed robbery, kidnapping and other crimes.
