Operation Whirl Stroke Leads To Arrest Of 2 Gunrunners In Taraba

Operation Whirl Stroke in Taraba State has led to the recovering of armed weapons from Gunrunners in the Wukari Local Government Area of the State.

According to a statement by the Director of Defence Media Operations, arrests were made in the raid on the weapons fabrication factory.

The troops were said to have acted on credible intelligence.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that troops of Operation Whirl Stroke, a military task force operating in North-Central Nigeria, have arrested two suspected gunrunners and raided a weapon fabrication factory in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State, according to a statement by the Director of Defence Media Operations, Musa Danmadami, on Saturday, April 29, 2023.
The troops acted on credible intelligence, and during the raid operation, they recovered two General Purpose Machine Guns (GPMG), one KPM, four AK 47 rifles, three pistols, one PKT, five 9mm ammunitions, two 7.63 x 54 ammunitions, seven rifle butts, and several parts of different rifles.

All arrested criminals and recovered weapons and ammunition have been handed over to the appropriate authorities for further actions, the statement said.
The military high command commended the troops of Operation Whirl Stroke and encouraged the general public to provide credible and timely information on terrorist and all criminal activities within their area.

Taraba State, like many other states in North-Central Nigeria, has been a hotbed of criminal activities, including kidnapping, banditry, and communal clashes.
