Precisely on the 19th of this month, July 2021, social media was awash with her 50th birthday photos. The reactions, this time, was all the same: she looks fabulous at 50! How did she do it?!

In our cultural society, some things are not just normal, they are the norm. For the issue of body size and structure, certain categories of people are not expected to have a certain physical look. For example a mother is not expected to be slim or trim. In fact, in some situations, being slim, after several childbirths is seen as unusual. For a fact, it’s almost an abnormality to expect a mother to have a flat stomach.  So seeing a fifty-year-old woman, in a pair of shorts, with a trim physique, was quite unusual for some people. Some people’s ideas of how a woman should look when she’s middle aged is beginning to change. All thanks to Kate Henshaw.

In positive ways, the pictures of Kate Henshaw is challenging and changing orientation of people towards fitness because it is now glaring that she never took her fitness regime lightly and also consumed what was good for her. There is no short-cut to having a well-toned body irrespective of age or status, except by a disciplined lifestyle. Picking a fitness routine that suits one’s schedule, plans, and goals is a must but that is actually the easier part of having and maintaining a healthy and endowed body. Some people would complain about waking up and hitting the gym not knowing that having a healthy food intake is the real deal.

The kind of food to consume, which ones to avoid and the ones to totally take out of one’s diet is key. Confused about your diet? Ask a dietitian for assistance! Abs are made in the kitchen as its said in the fitness world and you can’t outwork a bad diet.

Exercise regularly, eat well-nourished meals, avoid stress, and mind your own business and you will not only have a much toned figure at any age, you will also be free of diseases and illnesses.

We say huge congratulations to Kate Henshaw for reaching a milestone age and for shattering the glass ceiling that impedes the mindset of women that they cannot have a structured body at their middle age.
