OPSH Nab Hoodlums Involved In S/Kaduna Mayhem

The joint Military Task Force otherwise known as Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), saddled with the responsibility to restore peace in Plateau, some parts of Bauchi State and Southern Kaduna, has said it has nabbed about eight suspects involved in the recent killings in southern Kaduna

The OPSH said it has also killed one of the militia that carried out the last attacks that claimed lives in the region.

“The corpse of the hoodlum was discovered during the rescue operation by troops of the command”, it said.

Addressing newsmen at the OPSH Sector 7 Command, at Jama’a Local Government Area of Southern Kaduna on Monday, the Commander of the Task Force, Major General Chukwuemeka Okonkwo, said in addition to the deceased militia, the command also have some information on identity of some of the hoodlums that carried out the last attack.

Okonkwo who was represented by the Sector 7 Commander, Col. Davide Nwankonobi, said with the information available to the Force, troops are on trial to arrest all the militia involved in the killings.

“Please be informed also that one of the militia men that carried out the last attack was killed.

His corpse was discovered in Kibori village during the rescue operation by troops”.Okonkwo said.

However the OPSH said among the suspected hoodlums trailed, eight miscreants have been arrested through credible intelligence.

The suspects who are Abubakar Ali, Ali Amadu, Bawa IDI, Umar Dikko, Garba Damina, Muhammed Ibrahim, Adamu Joseph and William Barnabas, were all apprehended with dangerous weapons.

Our correspondent reports that the OPSH recovered two locally fabricated pump action gun, two locally made pistols, 1.9mm ammunition, 4 machetes, two Motorcycles, three cartridges, two Mobil phones and one dagger.
