Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has urged the Federal Government to extend its ongoing onslaught against bandits in the North West to the North Central geopolitical region to end the security crisis in his state and others.
The governor made the call on Tuesday at the Benue Peoples House Makurdi when he received members of the Niger Delta Bishop’s Voice and Minister’s Forum (NDBVAMF) who paid him a courtesy visit.
He noted that the raiding of bandits’ hideout in Zamfara and other parts of the North Western States by security agents should be extended to the North Central in order to flush out the bandits for peace to return to the region.

Security operatives are said to be currently unleashing offensives against the criminal elements in Zamfara State as many bandits have been killed while others escape to neighbouring states.
Reports say that many residents have continued to troop into the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps across the State, as bloodthirsty men suspected to be bandits continue to wreak havoc in parts of Benue State unabated.
Ortom had recently lamented that over 1.5 million citizens have been sacked from their ancestral homes following incessant attacks in several communities by the assailants.
