Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen scored his 10th Turkish Super Lig goal from the penalty spot, helping Galatasaray secure a 2-1 victory over Göztepe at RAMS Park in Istanbul on Saturday.
The win extends Galatasaray’s unbeaten streak and strengthens their position at the top of the league table.
Osimhen converted the spot-kick after Kaan Ayhan was fouled by Djalma Silva, giving the league leaders an early lead.

Göztepe equalized in the 27th minute through Romulo Cruz, set up by Antony Dennis. However, Yunus Akgün restored Galatasaray’s advantage on the hour mark.
A late goal by Lucas Torreira was disallowed after a VAR review.
The victory pushes Galatasaray 11 points clear of second-placed Fenerbahçe after 17 matches.
On loan from Napoli since September, the 25-year-old Osimhen has been in exceptional form, with 13 goals and five assists in 15 appearances across all competitions.
He is now tied for second in the Super Lig scoring charts with 10 goals, alongside Simon Banza and Mame Baba Thiam, trailing Krzysztof Piatek’s league-leading 12 goals.
Osimhen’s impressive performances have reportedly drawn interest from several top European clubs, particularly in the Premier League, as the January transfer window heats up.
