Osimhen Ruled Out Of Europa League Fixture After Muscle Injury

Victor Osimhen did not accompany his Galatasaray teammates on Tuesday for their UEFA Europa League fixture against Latvian side Rigas FS.

The match is scheduled for Thursday at the Daugavas Stadiona.

Osimhen was left out of the squad due to a muscle injury he sustained during Galatasaray’s 3-3 draw with Kasimpasa last weekend.

The club issued an official statement on Tuesday confirming his injury status.

“The treatment of our football player Victor Osimhen, who felt pain in his upper left posterior muscle during the Kasımpaşa match in the seventh week of the Trendyol Super League and who was diagnosed with strain (strain and bleeding) in his upper left posterior muscle group during his check-ups at our sponsor hospital Medicana today, has been started,” the Turkish Super Lig champions wrote on their official website.

The striker is also doubtful for Nigeria’s upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double-header against the Mediterranean Knights.
