According to reports in Italy, Arsenal and Chelsea have emerged as the frontrunners for Victor Osimhen’s signature.
The former Lille striker is eagerly awaiting calls from both clubs.
PSG initially identified Victor Osimhen as a replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who is set to join Real Madrid.
However, according to Monday’s Corriere dello Sport, Osimhen is not interested in joining the French giants, as he is unconvinced about playing in Ligue 1.
Instead, he considers the Premier League his dream destination, making Arsenal and Chelsea the favorites to sign him ahead of the 2024–25 season.
Osimhen, who won the Serie A Golden Boot in the 2022–23 season, signed a new contract with Napoli in December.
Recently, Osimhen missed his national team’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic due to injury.
After leading Napoli’s Scudetto charge in the 2022–23 season, he now looks forward to a new challenge.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is notoriously difficult to negotiate with and remains firm on Osimhen’s release clause.
However, the striker appears determined to move to England.
Arsenal and Chelsea have frequently been linked with the Nigerian international.
Nut it may require an offer exceeding £100 million to meet Napoli’s demands, as they are unlikely to deviate from the release clause.
The Gunners are reported to have cooled their interest recently due to the high fee involved.
