EKO HOT BLOG reports that Ismail Omipidan, the Chief Press Secretary to the Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, on Tuesday claimed that the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ademola Adeleke won the 16th July 2022 election with lies and propaganda.

Omipidan accused the governor-elect of lying to civil servants about issues relating to pensions and unpaid salaries in the state.

He also claimed that electorates still voted in Owode-Ede at about 9 pm on Saturday, when voting is expected to end around 1 pm.

Speaking on Governor Oyetola accepting defeat, he said his principal is still studying the outcome of the election and would come out with his stand at an appropriate time.

Omipidan stated this while speaking on a radio current affairs programme in Osogbo on Tuesday.

The governor’s aide while speaking on the governorship election said, “They lied to the civil servants about issues relating to pensions and unpaid salaries.

“It was also brought to our attention that in some polling units in Owode-Ede, people were still observed voting till about 9 pm on Saturday.

Recall that Adeleke defeated the incumbent governor, Oyetola gathering 403,371 votes, while the APC candidate polled 375,027 votes.

Adeleke won in 17 local government areas out of 30, while Oyetola win in the remaining 13.
