EKO HOT BLOG reports that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has established an 86-member campaign committee led by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to carry out its operations in what appears to be a desperate attempt to keep control of Osun state.
Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, the party’s national chairman, and Sen. Iyiola Omisore, its national secretary, announced this in a statement that was released Tuesday evening.
Only its election candidate and Osun were spared from the APC’s appointment of 21 of its 22 governors to the council.
Senator Godswill Akpabio, Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, Senator Gbemisola Saraki, Abubakar Malami SAN, Jason Sirika, and many others are additional committee members.

On July 16, 2022, there will be a governor’s election in Osun State.
If not for the alliances it formed with Senator Iyiola Omisore, the then-candidate of the Social Democratic Party PDP, during the supplemental election, APC would have lost the 2018 governorship election in the state.
