Adeleke withdraws from race alongside Former Secretary to the Osun State Government, Fatai Akinbade
- They have declared support for Prince Dotun Babayemi who is the choice of the party leaders
EKO HOT BLOG reports that Dele Adeleke and a former Secretary to the Osun State Government, Fatai Akinbade, have announced their withdrawal from the governorship race in the State of Osun.
The two governorship aspirants on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) withdrew from the primary poll hours after Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi stepped down from contesting in the party’s Tuesday primary election.

Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi, who is one of the top leading aspirants under PDP, Dele Adeleke and Fatai Akinbade, will no longer take part in the primary poll for the forthcoming July 16 governorship election in the State.
According to Adeleke, he took the decision to work for PDP leadership to win the gubernatorial poll in the state.
“PDP is my party and I am fully ready to work for the party to win the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state,” he said.
As for Akinbade, he claimed he was doing it to respect the decision of the party elders who have named Prince Dotun Babayemi as the preferred aspirant of the party.
