An auto mishap on the Ilesa-Ile-Ife Expressway on Monday has left two persons dead, The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has disclosed.
Kudirat Ibrahim, the Osun FRSC Sector Commander, made the disclosure while addressing newsmen in Osogbo, Osun capital on Monday.
Ekohotblog reports that Ibrahim said the accident involving a luxury bus and a car occurred at 3:05 am. on Monday.
Ibrahim said a radio presenter was amongst the two persons who died at the spot, explaining that the radio presenter, who worked with a private station in Ilesa, was on his way to work in his Peugeot car when the incident occurred.
“The accident occurred on Monday at 3:05 am. involving a luxury bus with registration number LND 322XY and a Peugeot 406 with registration number SMK 312 GQ” NAN quoted her to have said.
He said the body of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue.
“The radio presenter was with two others in the car, one of whom also died in the accident.
“About 54 persons were involved in the incident while the injured persons have been taken to Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesa, for treatment.
“The deceased have also been taken to a morgue in Ilesa,” she said.
She urged road users to always minimize speed on highways and obey traffic rules, adding that normalcy had been restored on the route where the accident occurred.
