Otunba Seyi Ogunwale, a Diaspora Nigerian, has appealed to his fellow Diasporans to prioritize investing back home to make their sojourn away from more more impactful and worth its while.
He further described his successful housewarming as a dream come true, stating that as an ijebu-Ode born, he was glad to have erected such a beautiful edifice in his fatherland.
One of the guests at the fun house-warming ceremony, Dr Kola Ibirogba, who graced the housewarming said he was present to relieve old time memories. He praised the celebrant for the milestone achievement and also dismissed unfounded myths by most Diaspora Nigerians that the country is not worth investing in.
“Most of them are ill-informed. I studied in States, I did my first degree, Masters and PhD and I’ve been here for 41 years. I just handed over my business to my children, they moved back here from the United States too to take over.”
“They are misinformed, a friend of mine used to say something in Yoruba and it is something needed to put the whole thing together in perspective. A lot of of people don’t know that they are slaves t the white man, and they do not realise it until it is too late,” he said.
The likes of Chief Mrs Fadeke Faleye, described the celebrant, her nephew, Seyi, as her genuine and favourite man. She stated that the celebrant has been helpful in so many ways to her, “especially the way he helped handle my son who was having difficulties in character building.”
Meanwhile, Chief Adebayo Adeeko, who also joined the celebrations sounded a note of warning to Nigerians in the diaspora to endeavour to return and erect a worthy abode where they would finally come home to roost, noting that it would be disgraceful to spend several decades abroad and return to their family house they once vacated.
Mr Richard Ademola, the Asiwaju of Aparaki, described his cousin, Otunba Ogunwale, as someone akin to a clairvoyant in choosing building such an edifice in his hometown so he can return home when he retires from America.

On the erroneous misconception of Diaspora Nigerians about investing in Nigeria, He said: “Nigeria is good, it depends on how you view it. America is 100 years above us, Nigeria is just 60 years and with time, things will be good. My advice is whenever you are in England or America, look back home, because eventually, it is cheaper for you here to build a house, so that when you retire there, you can think of coming back home to settle down. All entitlements can be used here because the cost of living is incomparable and cheaper.”
