” But the entire anchors were invited for a meeting by the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) in Abuja and they have since returned from that meeting,” it said.

Similarly, the Department of State Services (DSS) on Thursday clarified that Channels Television’s invited by the secret service in earlier stories on social media are false and misleading.

DSS spokesman, Peter Afunanya, made the clarification via a statement, warning purveyors of such to stop.

“The attention of the DSS has been drawn to news making the rounds in some sections of the media that its operatives earlier today (26th August, 2021) arrested two (2) journalists of Channels Television. This is false and misleading. Fake news peddlers should shun the act,” the statement read.
