Outrage In Ondo As Policemen On Curfew Flee After Causing Fatal Accident

There is outrage in Akure, Ondo State capital,  as policemen attached to Ijapo Divisional Police Station have reportedly taken to their heels after causing a fatal vehicular accident.

At about 8:30pm on Friday, the policemen while enforcing dusk to dawn curfew, threw a log of wood at the tyre of a speeding Sports Utility Vehicle making the yet to be identified driver lose control.

This caused the vehicle to veer off the road, and the driver hit his head on the windshield leading to various degrees of injury.

He has been rushed to a nearby hospital while the vehicle is totally damaged.

Residents have described the attitude displayed by the policemen as unprofessional and meaningless.

Spokesperson for the police in the state could not be reached for comments at the time of this report.
