Over One Thousand Get Free Medical Service As CMM/RAMF Storm Kogi On Mission Outreach

Over one thousand people cut across Omelewu, Imane, Agaliga, Okpo and Ogenago Villages of Olamaboro local government area of Kogi State have benefited from free medical services organized by the Joint medical outreach and surgical missions of Odumehaje Christian Medical Mission, OCMM and Raymond Akor Memorial Foundation, RAMF.

Speaking at Olamaboro, the Co- Chairman and CEO OCMM, Dr. Paul Odumu said the aim of the intervention was to assist indigent households, women and children as well as the vulnerable in the communities to have access to healthcare services.

Dr. Paul explained that the Organizations had offered various health interventions to include general consultations, Surgeries, laboratory services, tests for Malaria, hypertension, hepatitis, health education among others.

The team lead for the outreach identified chronic waist pain, hernias, infertility, abdominal problems, womb infestation and malaria/ typhoid among others as some of the disturbing ailments in the area, which he attributed to farming nature of the people in those communities.

He said medicines for different illnesses were procured and administered to patients based on doctors’ diagnosis as well as general and dental Surgeries were conducted depending on the medical complications.

The Traditional Head in charge of Imane in Olamaboro LGA, His Royal Highness Ibrahim Salihu expressed appreciation for the service and hoped that other organizations would emulate such gesture.

Also speaking, Acting Chairman of Olamaboro Local Government Council, Mr. Ameh Demian said the medical outreach was a welcome development in view of the economic hardship being experienced by people of the the area.

He pledged continued support and collaboration with groups and individuals to provide such intervention across the state for a better living standard.

Statistical breakdown indicated that, of the over one thousand beneficiaries, over four hundred surgeries of different kind were conducted ranging from bileteral, scrotal and hydroceles hernias, exploratory laparatomy, ruptured appendix, Parotic tumor among other complications in children including dental surgeries like lithosis, bad breed and calculux.
