Oyebanji said feedback from various parts of the state indicated that the election was progressing without major security concerns, while many residents had turned out to participate in the exercise.
He acknowledged that some polling units experienced delays during voter accreditation due to technical issues with electronic voter verification devices, which temporarily affected the process.

Despite the challenges, the governor urged voters to remain calm and patient, assuring them that no eligible voter would be denied the opportunity to cast a ballot because of the glitches.
According to him, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had assured the state government that the faulty devices would be fixed promptly to ensure the smooth continuation of the election.
He added that everyone already at the polling centres would be allowed to vote once the technical problems were resolved.
Oyebanji also welcomed the high voter participation, describing it as a positive sign for democracy in the state.

He praised residents for responding to his earlier appeal to come out and exercise their civic responsibility, saying the turnout reflected the people’s commitment to the democratic process.
“The reports I have received are encouraging. Voting is taking place peacefully, and the turnout has been very impressive. I am delighted that our people responded to my appeal by coming out in large numbers to vote,” he said.
He further appealed to residents to remain patient, adding, “Everyone who has come out to vote will be given the opportunity to do so. INEC has assured us that all eligible voters at the polling units will be allowed to cast their ballots.”
