While discharging the patients to be reunited with the public, the Coordinator of the centre, Professor Temitope Alonge, noted that, the number was the highest discharged at a time by the centre.
He said there were still 32 active cases in the state, all in stable conditions.
He added that “the centre is also currently housing an entire family, including the father, mother and children who are receiving treatment”.
He thanked all the caregivers for their continuous effort and support.
Alonge said: “On behalf of Governor Seyi Makinde, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, we want to sincerely appreciate the staff of the Ministry of Health led by Dr Soji Adeyanju, the Permanent Secretary, Hospital Management Board and the doctor in charge of the centre.”
One of the discharged patients, who spoke on behalf of others, thanked the Oyo State government and the medical officers for the care.
The Adamawa State Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Professor Isa Abdullahi, announced the discharge of eight patients from the state’s isolation centre.
He disclosed this while briefing journalists on the achievements of the state’s Containment Committee on COVID-19.
The commissioner recalled that Governor Ahmadu Fintiri had earlier announced the discharge of five cases.
The state has a total of 21 cases, beginning on April 22 when the index case was confirmed.
