Oyo APC Congress: Committee Gives Fresh Update, Declares New Date
- The Oyo APC congress committee has declared Saturday as the date to conduct the state Congress.
Ekohotblog reports that the committee set up to conduct All Progressives Congress (APC) state congress in Oyo State has given a fresh update and declared that the committee has finalized all arrangements to conduct the state congress on Saturday.

Alhaji Gambo Lawan, the Chairman of the Committee who spoke shortly after he held a stakeholder meeting with chieftains of the party on Friday, said the Congress will hold on Saturday.
Party chieftains who present at the meeting included APC gubernatorial candidate in 2019, Adebayo Adelabu, House of Representatives members, Akeem Adeyemi and Sina Abiola Peller, Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye, Asimiyu Alarape, Akin Olajide and Professor Abideen Olaiya. .
Others House of Assembly members, Asimiyu Alarape and Wumi Oladeji, Adigun Abiodun, Abdulazeez Olatunde and Ajiboye Omodewu.
While speaking, Lawan said that the party leadership has advised the use of consensus.
He, however, noted that the committee will conduct elections into the state executive offices in a situation where the party failed to agree on consensus.
Lawan who addressed journalists at the Oke Ado secretariat of APC on Friday said, “Insha Allah, God’s willing, it will hold tomorrow. I had met the stakeholders, I told them why we are here. I told them that we are going ahead to conduct the primary this weekend.
“The mandate given to us by the APC national leadership is to have consensus.
“That is the mandate given to us by the party. But, if they are not able to agree on consensus, we will go to the field.
“Whether consensus or no consensus, we are going to have the congress tomorrow.
“We came with the delegates list, the ward congress and I have handed over the list to the chairman of the party.
“I handed it over to him in the presence of all the stakeholders.”
