The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) in Oyo State on Tuesday directed their members to stay at home.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) in Oyo State has given its members the go-ahead to remain at home.

According to the union, the failure to pay their salary for July was the reason they decided to go on strike.

This Online Media gathered that the workers in a bid to enforce the order locked the Iyaganku Magistrate’s Court and High Court gates.

Vehicles and other visitors who were scheduled to be in the courtrooms were barred from the area.

Obafunso Okulaja, the state’s JUSUN Public Relations Officer, stated that the union had instructed its members to go on strike.

Following the union’s congress last Friday, he claimed the strike had been ended.

Okulaja said it was unfortunate that their members had not received July salary.

He added that other government agencies in the State had received their salaries since July 25.

He explained further that the strike will continue until they receive their July salaries.

Okulaja said, “The staff don’t have money again to come to work so we directed them to sit at home.

“Only JUSUN is yet to receive July salary in the state and this delay in salary payment has been like this since December 2021. We call on the state government to put us on the priority list as the third arm of the government.

“If the executive and legislative arms should be given priorities, the judiciary should also be given the same access. The sit at home will continue until we receive our July salary”.
