Oyo State Government Shuts Down Six Health Facilities Over Quackery Allegations

The Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Dotun Oyelade, released a statement outlining the offenses committed by the affected facilities, which included the recruitment of unqualified personnel for medical services and engagement in illicit practices.
Chairman of the Oyo State Anti-quackery Task Force Committee, Dr. Adekunle Aremu, emphasized that the government’s intervention was a crucial step to safeguard the health and well-being of residents.
Dr. Aremu reiterated the government’s commitment to upholding rigorous standards in healthcare, ensuring that services consistently meet the highest benchmarks for quality and safety.
“The goals remain clear; the Oyo State government is dedicated to upholding rigorous standards and prioritizing the health and safety of every resident. The government ensures that healthcare services consistently meet the highest benchmarks for quality and safety, so citizens can trust their well-being,” stated Dr. Aremu.
The affected facilities, subjected to closure, are New Jobi Memorial Hospital, Omolara Clinic & Maternity Home, Iped Amazing Grace Medical Clinic, Emiloju Clinic and Maternity Centre in Ogbere, Safeway Clinic in Gbaremu, and Emilagba Clinic and Maternity Centre in Ibadan.
