The Oyo State Government has taken decisive action in response to the tragic death of OYRTMA officer Fabunmi Kehinde on December 14, 2024.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the alleged perpetrator, 28-year-old Ifeoluwa Ologbese, has been arraigned before the Magistrate Court in Iyaganku.
Ologbese faces a three-count charge in connection with the incident, which occurred at UI-Agbowo.
The charge sheet reads:
COUNT I: That you Ifeoluwa Ologbese ‘m’ ON 14/12/2024 at about 16500hrs along UI sango Road in the Ibadan Magisterial district being the driver in charge of 4matic Benz 350 with Reg No: LSD 862 JS drove dangerously without due regards to other road users, and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 18 of the RTA cap 148 Vol (V) laws of Oyo State of Nigeria 2000;

COUNT II: That you Ifeoluwa Ologbese ‘m’ on the same date, time, and place in the aforementioned Magisterial district drove the same vehicle recklessly by disobeying traffic the light and hit one Fabunmi Kehinde who was on official duty to co-ordinate the process thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 36(i)(1) and 98 (f) Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria 2000;
COUNT III: That you Ifeoluwa Ologbese ‘m’ on the same date, time, and place in the aforementioned Magisterial district drove the same vehicle in a dangerous manner having no regard to all circumstances of other road users and caused the death of one Fabunmi Kehinde an officer with OΥRTΜΑ Oyo State and thereby committed an offence contrary to an punishable under Section 25(1) of RTA Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria 2000.
He pleaded not guilty as the charges were read to him. The chief magistrate, Mrs. Ogunkanmi, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N2.5 million, with two sureties required in the same amount.
One of the sureties must own landed property within the Magisterial district, while the other must be a blood relative. The case has been adjourned until March 27, 2025.
