The death has been announced in Lagos of one of the architects and founding fathers of Lagos,Pa Hassan Fasinro
Pa Fasinro, passed on at exactly 8:29pm on Sunday evening after a brief illness at the age of 99.
The number one citizen of the state,Mr Akinwunmi Ambode,in a statement credited to his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Habib Aruna,has expressed sadness over the demise of Pa Fasinro
The Governor described Pa Fasinro’s demise not only as a personal loss but a national loss and his contribution to the socio economic fabric of the state will always be part of our history.
Ambode, commiserating with the family of the late elder statesman, urged them to uphold the ideals he stood for, saying that the nation will continue to draw inspiration from his life.
Fasinro, popularly called HAB, was a Senator in the Second Republic and the first Clerk of Lagos City Council.
He would have clocked 100 years by September this year.
Fasinro was born on September 13, 1919. He went to Ereko Methodist School, Lagos and the Boys High School, Lagos.
In 1948, he went abroad to study law and was subsequently called to the bar in 1951
He will be buried on Monday according to Muslim rites
