The commercial sex worker allegedly killed a customer during an argument over his refusal to pay after rounds of sex.

Angered by the death of the customer, residents mobilised and set the hotel ablaze.

The hotel named Skelewu Hotel, is located in Umuguma Community, Owerri, Imo State.

Their anger seemed from the alleged stabbing of a man to death by a commercial sex worker in the hotel.

The incident led to panic in the area, and caused traders to hurriedly close their shops. Motorists were also forced to take alternative routes as the fire raged.

Policemen attended the scene and cordoned off the hotel as firefighters worked to stop the inferno.
