Every father or mother owes their children and society at large the responsibility of being a responsible parent. As a parent who wishes to raise academically brilliant and morally upright children, it’s essential to teach them the principles that will create a learning environment while also allowing them to mature into the adults you desire.
To achieve this as a parent, you must abstain from certain practices, most especially the ones that are aimed at demeaning your children’s emotions and confidence
So in this article on EKO HOT BLOG, we would be looking at some things you must never tell your children as a parent.
1. Comparing them with others, especially their friends.
I know how frustrating it is to have a child who isn’t performing well academically or in other areas, but comparing them to their peers who are probably doing well isn’t the greatest way. This type of comparison frequently leads to feelings of contempt for their friends, which can lead to a lack of interest in and devotion to their academics.
Instead of utilizing the comparison method, why not inspire them with stories of famous people from around the world who have overcome comparable obstacles and are now succeeding? This will substantially motivate them to adopt a more positive mindset.
2. Informing them of your spouse’s bad behaviour
Most parents are fond of reporting their partner’s weaknesses and flaws to their children for various reasons, which is not the correct thing to do as a parent. If you’re having a disagreement with your partner, keep it out of the eyes of your children and resolve it quietly with your spouse.
Involving your children in any misunderstanding you have with your partner might make them develop hatred for their parent and might extend the hatred in their dealings with anyone of that gender. For instance, revealing the mistakes of your husband to your children might make them hate their father and any other male they come across.
3. Using Abusive words on them
Most parents are fond of using abusive and demeaning words on their children, probably to express their dismay or disapproval over their ill attitude. Nonetheless; it is still improper and unjustifiable for a parent to use profane words on their children.

Using words like ‘stupid’, ‘good for nothing, ‘foolish’ and other words that suggest profanity is a form of abuse that can be detrimental to your child’s emotional and psychological state. So, the next time your child offends you, conform to a more relaxed and patient way of dealing with the situation instead of using curse words on them.
