Passengers Rescued as Commercial Vehicle Plunges into Benue Stream

Many passengers sustained serious injuries when a Toyota Hiace bus reportedly veered off the road and plunged into a stream in Benue State.

EKO HOT BLOG gathered that the incident occurred around 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2024, in Mbagwa, Kwande Local Government Area.

Eyewitnesses reported that passersby rescued all occupants of the vehicle.

Sources indicated that the driver, en route to Ikyogen, lost control, causing the bus to skid off the road and into the nearby stream.

Community leader Chief Akile Tyovihi confirmed the incident, noting that the bus was traveling from Makurdi. He added that his son, who had recently completed a recruitment examination, was among the injured and sustained serious injuries.
