Passengers Stranded As Lagos Bus Drivers Begin Strike (PHOTOS)
Passengers are stranded as Lagos bus drivers commenced a strike.
Eko Hot Blog reports that many passengers, including, travellers, were stranded in Lagos State on Monday as commercial bus drivers commenced a seven-day strike.

Recall that the commercial drivers under the umbrella of the Joint Drivers Welfare Association Of Nigeria (JDWAN), had declared a 7-day boycott of transport services across the state.
They are protesting alleged extortion by the men of motor parks and garages management in the State.
The drivers also accused the state government of imposing arbitrary levies on them.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the JDWAN National Leader, Akintade Abiodun, lamented payment of illegal fees and collection of high levies from their members by government officials, which they said had increased the cost of living in Lagos.
“This is to notify members of the public and the Lagos State government over multiple and excessive extortions by the motor parks and garages management,” the statement said.
“The cost of transportation affects the cost of goods and services and consequently the cost of living, which has spiralled astronomically in Lagos State as a result of the effect of motor parks’ excessive and illegal ticketing and tolling at almost every bus stop.”
According to Vanguard, many people were stranded at Satellite, Amuwo Odofin major bus stops along Ogba-Berger road, such as Aguda, college road, among others on Monday.
Punch also reported that a few buses that operated hiked their fares.
