Red-Hot Super Eagles Striker Paul Onuachu was not included among the 24-man squad released by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
He is one of the eight players on standby, and only gets the chance to feature for Super Eagles, provided any of the invitees gets injured before leaving their various clubs.
Despite his terrific form and being consistent in his club this season, Super eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, managed not to name him in the squad.
Onuachu has been able to garner 9 call-ups since he made his debut for Nigeria against Brazil but he has not been playing convincingly for the national team and this has led to criticism from fans across the nation citing his presence “useless and meaningless”.
Despite that decision to leave him out of the squad, he has come out calmly in an interview recently stating that he would always continue to fight for his place in the national team, EKO HOT BLOG gathered.
Onuachu stated;
“Yeah that was a huge dissapointment considering the effort I’ve put in this season particularly but it is Rohr’s decision and I can’t do anything about it.
I will always give my all and continue to strive for a place in the national squad until I get recognised again.”
