Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) has vowed not to distribute
electricity to any community which had refused to pay for March and April.
The power distribution company decided to do so as they had pleaded with these involved towns to pay for their used power supply while the people living in those areas said that the federal government had instructed every community in Nigeria not to pay for electricity at this period of Covid-19 pandemic.
This insinuation has gone beyond these electricity consumers, so they agreed on chatting up the company to be steadfast with them at this period of coronavirus pandemic which has caused economic step back for some residents.
Residents came up with this chatting up ideas as some communities in Lagos State had no electricity for the past two weeks before they discovered that cables that distributed power-supply to those affected neighborhoods have been disconnected by EKEDC personnel.
Some of the affected areas are some parts of Lagos Mainland, Lagos Island, Eti Osa, and Ibeju Lekki.
“If you pay for charges given to you, your electricity will be restored,” reaction from EKEDC when discussing with community representatives.
