Elaborating on his perspective, Governor Ayade, who hails from a civil servant background, expressed his personal awareness of the circumstances in which he was raised.

He emphasized that, from his own experience, the timely payment of salaries and pensions holds greater significance than any other government initiative.

However, the Trade Union Congress (TUC) in Cross River State recently raised concerns over the welfare of civil servants during Governor Ayade’s eight-year administration.

The TUC Chairman, Monday Ogbodum, revealed in a press conference on Monday that no civil servant had received a promotion in the past seven years, aside from regular payment of salaries and pensions.

Ogbodum claimed that the workers in the state had endured the worst welfare conditions during Ayade’s tenure.

The TUC’s remarks shed light on the contrasting perspectives surrounding Governor Ayade’s governance. While the governor emphasizes the importance of salaries and pensions, the TUC has called attention to the lack of career progression opportunities for civil servants.
