Bala Mohammed has demanded an apology from Atiku.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has asked the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, to apologise for sidelining him in the happenings in the Presidential Campaign Council.

This online media platform gathered that Mohammed, who was a former presidential aspirant, was recently appointed as the Vice Chairman of the PDP Presidential campaign council (North-East).

In a protest letter dated November 3, 2022, and addressed to the PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, Governor Mohammed said Atiku has not shown him the needed respect and confidence to work.

In the letter, the governor claimed that he was excluded from the activities of the campaign council as it relates to his office and was not carried along on certain decisions.

Governor Mohammed added that of all the PDP presidential aspirants, he was the only one Atiku did not visit for reconciliation after the primaries.

According to the governor, Atiku threatened to deal with him for contesting against him in the party’s presidential primaries in Abuja, adding that he was targeted by some political gladiators loyal to Atiku.

He, therefore, threatened to dump the former Vice President in the forthcoming presidential election if amends were not made soon.

The letter was signed by Mohammed, his deputy, Senator Baba Tela; the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Abubakar Suleiman; the state Chairman of the PDP, Hamza Akuyam, and 30 others.

The letter reads: “I was deliberately sidelined from the reach-out campaign of the PCC in Kaduna, which interacted with major stakeholder groups and the northern political establishments such as the Arewa Consultative Forum, Northern Elders Forum, Sadauna Foundation, Arewa Research, and Development Progress, etcetera.

“I was targeted by some political gladiators purportedly endorsed directly or indirectly by the presidential candidate of our party, Atiku Abubakar.

“While Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and his political cohorts insist that I must be ‘punished’ for contesting against him during the presidential primaries of our party.

“The self-acclaimed ‘kingmakers’ around the Waziri Adamawa want a pound of flesh from me because I have refused to capitulate to their unbridled sense of entitlement which is pregnant with selfishness and dictatorial tendencies.

“The last group of the ‘Bala Must Go’ campaigners are those whose egos have been bruised by my continued political relevance, rising national profile, and the groundswell of public acclamation that have trailed unprecedented developmental strides of the PDP-led administration in the state.”

This development comes days after Ayu alongside the Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, and former Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, visited Bauchi State on Saturday.

Atiku is yet to resolve the grievances of the five PDP Governors led by Nyesom Wike of Rivers State. The governors have vowed not to support Atiku except Ayu steps down as the party’s National Chairman and is replaced by a southerner.
