The National Convention Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) listed former President Goodluck Jonathan, among party leaders to consult ahead of the October 30-31, convention, EkoHotBlog reports.
Chairman of the Contact and Mobilisation Sub-Committee of the convention slated for October 30-31 and Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku, who was represented by the state Deputy Governor, Haruna Manu, at the committee’s inaugural meeting, discloses this in Abuja, on Tuesday.
The disclosure was made while answering a question on the issue, Manu said, “I can assure you that all those people that they have mentioned that you’ll be contacted will be contacted.
“And if the former president (Jonathan) is one of those people that are supposed to be contacted, I assure you that he will be contacted.”
He stressed further that the committee met to take inputs from members on the modalities for achieving its set objectives in order to prepare a budget which will be presented to the larger committee for approval and further action.

Manu also disclosed that “This very important committee of contact and mobilization is meeting today to discuss modalities, on how to go about our functions and responsibilities.
“And that’s exactly what we have done. After today, we’ll come up with our budget, what we need for the convention. That is basically what we have discussed.”
When asked if the committee was reaching out to the suspended PDP National Chairman, Uche Secondus, Manu said, “this question was raised last week and the chairman of the convention Committee has answered you on this. So, my answer still remains what the chairman of this very important convention committee said.”
Chairman of the convention committee and Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, in response to a question on the subject last week, said, “Until the court rules in favour of Secondus, I think the status quo remains that it is elder Yemi Akinwonmi that will chair the convention.”
