PDP Crisis Deepens As party Suspends Chairman

The chairman of Lagos State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Adedeji Doherty has been suspended.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Doherty suspension was announced on Friday at a press conference by Muiz Shodipe, the state party executive.
Doherty is accused of financial improperiety and causing division in the party.
Shodipe alleged that Doherty’s portrayal of the party in the media was unsettling and that he was fond making pronouncements that were never part of the party’s deliberation.
According to him, the chairman demanded allegiance and loyalty to himself instead of the party and in the event that members refused to bow to his whims, he deemed them “persona non grata”.
“The chairman lacks transparency in management and accountability of the party finances and administration.
