The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secured a sweeping victory in the recent local government elections in Enugu State, winning all 17 Chairmanship seats and 260 councillorship positions across the state’s wards.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Chairman of the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC), Prof. Christian Ngwu, officially announced the results on Monday.
He confirmed that the PDP won all 260 councillorship seats after a thorough review of the election results, which were carefully compiled to ensure compliance with electoral laws.

“ENSIEC took extra time to meticulously verify the results, ensuring they adhered to all legal requirements and were free from any errors,” Ngwu said.
On Sunday, ENSIEC had already confirmed the PDP’s complete dominance in the Chairmanship elections.
Ngwu emphasized that the elections were peaceful, fair, free, and credible, with no significant reports of violence or disruptions. He assured that ENSIEC provided a level playing field for all 17 political parties that participated in the elections.
“The full details of the councillorship election results will be released to the public soon,” Ngwu added, noting that Certificates of Return will be issued shortly to the elected chairmen and councillors.
The ENSIEC chairman reiterated that the elections proceeded without any major incidents, affirming the commission’s commitment to upholding the integrity of the electoral process.
