PDP, Governors, Others Celebrate Atiku At 74

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), governors and many prominent Nigerians have congratulated former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar on his 74th birthday on Wednesday.

A statement in Abuja by the party’s spokesman Kola Ologbondiyan said: “Atiku Abubakar’s success in business and entrepreneurship as well as his achievements as the Chairman of the National Economic Council, in lifting our economy while serving as Vice-President under the Olusegun Obasanjo administration, amply demonstrate the capacity of our nation to economically excel in the hands of good managers.”

Chairman of Northern Governors’ Forum and Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong described Atiku as a political giant who has contributed immensely to the development of the nation and its democracy.

Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri described Atiku as the “greatest politician of our time”.

Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa said: “As a great patriot and elder statesman, you have genuinely provided opportunities for people to utilise their potential and earn decent means of livelihood with your massive investments in education, agriculture, media, hospitality, water and oil and gas.”

House of Representatives Minority Leader Ndudi Elumelu said: “Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is an extraordinary personality, a courageous leader and untiring patriot, whose sacrifices and dedication towards the unity, stability and development of our nation are valued across all the divides of our national life.”
