EKO HOT BLOG reports that the PDP Governors Forum, led by its Chairman and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, in a communique issued after their meeting in Ibadan, Oyo State, stated clearly that while the party remains open to welcoming new members and political groups, it would not participate in any coalition aimed at unseating the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Also weighing in on the matter, Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, during an interview on Channels Television on Tuesday, clarified that the PDP had not endorsed any coalition, alliance, or merger proposal spearheaded by Atiku. He emphasized that such a decision cannot be taken without the input and approval of the party’s leadership and its statutory organs.
Despite these positions, Atiku has pressed forward. In a post on 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, he revealed that he met with two delegations from the North to update them on the progress of what he described as a “pan-Nigerian coalition” being formed across political and regional divides.
He reiterated that the movement is being driven by Nigerians determined to “reclaim and rebuild” the country.
“Yesterday, I met with a delegation of two groups, during which I briefed them about the status of the pan-Nigerian coalition that I am building in conjunction with other leaders and stakeholders across political divides and regions,” Atiku posted.
He added, “I informed them that the Nigerian Movement is being powered by Nigerians desirous of reclaiming and rebuilding their country from across the nooks and crannies of our country.”

Atiku also disclosed the identities of the delegations he met with: the first, a PDP group from Nasarawa State led by Alhaji Jibirin Sabo Keana; and the second, a team of national opinion leaders led by Hon. Yusuf Sheriff Banki.
“The Coalition Train has left the station,” Atiku declared, adding that it will make several stops to onboard Nigerians of diverse backgrounds.
