PDP Guber Candidate Questions Nasarawa Election Results, Summons INEC For Electoral Reevaluation

• The PDP candidate in the governorship election in Nasarawa State, has petitioned INEC to review the election results.

• Ombugadu alleged that the governor sent thugs to scatter the votes in his polling units.

• Ombugadu and his supporters rejected the results and protested the outcome of the election.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the March 18 governorship election in Nasarawa State, David Ombugadu, has disclosed he has petitioned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to review the results of the election in the state.

This is as Ombugadu, who has protested the win of the incumbent governor, Abdullahi Sule, argued that he won Sule in his polling unit, ward, local government and senatorial district.

According to him, the governor’s claim that some non-indigenous residents in the state made his victory at the polls difficult was not true.

The PDP chieftain alleged that the governor sent thugs to scatter the votes in his polling unit when he discovered that he was losing.

But despite that he (Ombugadu) still defeated Sule in his unit, so the governor’s claim that visitors in the state made his victory hard is false.

Recall that INEC declared Sule, who contested on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the Nasarawa governorship election conducted on March 18.

Sule polled 347,209 to beat his closest contender, Ombugadu who got 283,016 votes.

Reacting to Sule’s claim, the PDP chieftain maintained that “I want to use this opportunity to encourage everybody living in Nasarawa State to take Nasarawa State as their home. I defeated the governor in his zone; I defeated him and even his deputy in his local government. He is from Akwanga local government.

“You can see that I defeated him from the unit to the ward, to the local government and then to the Senatorial District, I defeated him. I defeated his deputy in his local government, which is Doma Local Government. So, it is not true that visitors or people that settled in Nasarawa State are the reason why victory was difficult for him.”

Ombugadu and his supporters, who have rejected the results of the polls, have in the last few days taken to the street of the state to protest the outcome of the election.
