PDP Mocks NANS Over Gov Umahi’s Endorsement For 2023 Presidential Race
- NANS approved Umahi as the students’ choice for the 2023 presidential election at its 65th Emergency Senate meeting last Thursday at the Ecumenical Centre in Abakaliki.
On Sunday, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State criticized the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) for endorsing Governor David Umahi in the presidential election of 2023, Eko hot blog gathered.
Silas Onu, the state PDP Publicity Secretary, said in a statement released in Abakaliki that NANS had made a mockery of itself by supporting a man who had no empathy for the plight of students.
Onu, on the other hand, believes that the endorsement must be for Umahi to become NANS President in the near future because the governor was involved in activities that NANS members were known for.

No student body worthy of the name would support a governor who had no interest in education, according to the PDP spokesperson, who asked NANS to name one person who had received any form of scholarship from Umahi’s administration since 2015.
“Last week, social media platforms were bombarded with a sponsored post about Governor Umahi’s poorly planned and procured endorsement for President,” he said.
“My first thought was, President of what? It then occurred to me that NANS and Dave’s government’s people (warriors) are the same people.
As a result, it would be an endorsement for the Governor to become NANS President in the near future, as he is currently engaged in the activities for which NANS members are recognized as a governor.
“NANS, as wrongly portrayed in their commercial endorsement, is actually not a body of students.
