EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has pledged to allocate a $10 billion fund to support businesses in the South East if elected as President.
During a PDP presidential campaign rally in Abia state on Saturday, the former Vice President announced his promise to traders in the region. He stated that this rehabilitation fund is a commitment he made to them in 2019 when he addressed a group of businessmen from the South-East, including those in Aba, which is considered the region’s business capital.

Atiku Abubakar added that he would also make sure that the Abia dry port project becomes operational. He said, “It will only be my pleasure to make sure that the dry port functions and is operating.”
PDP Vice Presidential candidate and Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, spoke at the rally as well. He stated that the party aims to halt the suffering of the South-East and restore the dignity of the Igbo people, who have endured under the APC administration. He said, “We want to restore the dignity of the Igbo man, we want a president that can unite Nigeria.”
