However, some security personnel working directly with the presidential candidate, journalists, and other party chieftains were left stranded at the Jos airport.

This online media platform learnt that PDP members stranded at the airport were not less than 100 as of reporting time. Reports had it that the airport tower signal went off shortly after Atiku and top members of his campaign train left.

It was gathered that an aircraft that was about to land could not land and was forced to turn back.

An airport worker told Channels Television that the staff received instructions to shut down the facility at exactly 5:30pm, claiming that there was no request for an extension of time by the PDP.

Meanwhile, the National Vice President of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Damian Okeke-Ogene, on Tuesday revealed why the Southeast will not support the presidential ambition of Atiku.

According to Okeke-Ogene, Atiku has lost the region’s support following his role in jettisoning zoning in his party.

The decision of the PDP to throw open its presidential ticket led to the emergence of Atiku as the party’s flagbearer.

Okeke-Ogene said the former Vice President would have been seen as a hero if he had supported the rotation to the Southeast.

He said the PDP presidential candidate should have seen the 2023 election as a payback time for the sacrifices Ndigbo made to him in the 2019 elections.
