EKO HOT BLOG reports that the conflict, which began after the 2023 general elections, has grown more severe, leading to a widening factional rift within the opposition party.

The Peoples Democratic Party Governors Forum (PDP-GF) had earlier called on the feuding members to revert to their original positions.

This was announced by the forum’s chairman and Bauchi State governor, Bala Mohammed, after a meeting that stretched into the early hours of Tuesday.

In a bid to resolve the crisis, the PDP Senate caucus held a closed-door meeting, lasting over three hours, chaired by Senate Minority Leader Senator Abba Moro.

Following the meeting, Moro, who represents Benue South, announced that an expanded committee has been formed.
