PDP Welcomes Defectors In Osun State

  • Osun PDP welcomes defectors into the party ahead of gubernatorial election in the state.

The Osun State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sunday Bisi has charged the newly defected members to work commitedly for the victory of the party in the 2022 gubernatorial election in the State, EkohotBlog reports.

The Osun PDP Chairman also tasked the defectors to see the party as their family, they have been welcomed with open hands and assured that their stay in the PDP would herald an era of peace and progress in the state.

Bisi gave this message while welcoming decamping members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oke-Ila Orangun, Ifedayo local government area of Osun State.

While imploring the defectors not to see themselves as new members in the party, Bisi told them that they were entitled to everything within the party.

He urged them to show their loyalty to the PDP by staying true to their membership pledge and also work for the progress of the party.

The chairman also mandated the party members to work towards bringing over members of other parties into the PDP because the party had renewed itself and was committed towards achieving victories during the 2022 gubernatorial election in the State and the general election in 2023.

Bisi noted that the defection became necessary as the ruling party was divided amongst themselves as there was rancour between the governor and members of The Osun Progressives (TOP) which has the support of, Rauf Aregbesola, a former governor of the State.

The defecting party members were led by Yisa Adebayo, a former Council Chairman of Ifedayo LG and State Executive Officer of the APC.
