PEDPA Restate Its Support, Approval Of LASG Regulation On E-hailing

The National President and members of Professional E – Hailing and Private Owners Association (PEDPA) reiterate their readiness to support, cooperate and abide by the Lagos State Government on new regulations and guidelines on operations of ride-sharing application and their operators.
The president, Comrade Idris Shonuga made this known during a humanitarian visit to one of their members, Comrade Tomi Waziri, On Wednesday, 19th of August, 2020, who was shot by hoodlums and consequently lost his eyes on active duty.
“The incident happened while rendering service on Bolt e-hailing platform and was subsequently abandoned by the Bolt.
“The association will present a certificate of investment and letter confirming the victim (Waziri) as a pioneer member of the Association during the visit,” he said

Shonuga also confirmed and restated PEDPA’s position that the recently released new LASG regulations and guidelines on the operation of ride-sharing application and their operators in the state is a welcome development and will be fully supported by PEDPA.
According to the president, PEDPA has dissociated itself from the statement credited to one comrade Ayoade Ibrahim, published in the Guardian Newspapers to the effect that PEDPA as e hailing drivers’ association rejects the recently released new Lagos State Government regulations and guidelines on the operation of ride-sharing application and their operators in Lagos state.
Also speaking, the National Publicity Secretary(PRO), Mr Joseph Olawale, added that certificate and letter confirming Waziri as a pioneer member of PEDPA, cash gift, donation would be presented to him by PEDPA and representatives of MYKAB, an e hailing ride-sharing App operator company.
Olawale disassociates PEDPA from the said publication published in the Guardian Newspapers dated 19th August, 2020 credited to PEDPA and Ayoade.
The PRO said that Ayoade is not a member of PEDPA and therefore his position does not in any way represent the position of PEDPA adding that the publication is fake, misleading, untrue, malicious and meant to set PEDPA against the Government of Lagos State.
“The National President of the Association is Comrade Idris Shonuga Oluwaseun and that Ayoade Ibrahim is an imposter who is merely seeking for unmerited popularity”
“Making efforts to derail and soil the name of PEDPA for selfish reason and therefore urge the public and the media not to give him unnecessary attention and media support that may cause or lead to loss of their hard earn money and respect.
The PRO said that Ayoade is the President of National Union of Professional App-Based Workers, an Association different from PEDPA.
“PEDPA has contacted its lawyers to take necessary actions on the impersonation,” comrade said.
