Pele, One of the all-time great in the game took to his Instagram handle to pay tribute to Cristiano Ronaldo on scoring the hat-trick that breaks his own goal scoring record in official matches and also express his ‘only’ regret.
You’ll recall that some weeks ago, there were arguments as to whether the total number of goals scored by the Brazilian was 757 or 767.
However, last night, Christiano Ronaldo broke the 767 goal record after scoring three times in thirty-two minutes against Cagliari.
In his statement, he said
“Congratulations on breaking my record of goals in official matches. I admire you, I love watching you play and this is no secret to anyone, my only regret is not being able to give you a hug today”.
“Cristiano life is a solo fight. Each makes his own journey. And what a beautiful journey you are having!”

Cristiano Ronaldo’s hat-trick takes him to 770 official goals, three ahead of Pele.
A breakdown of Ronaldo’s goals include 668 goals for club sides. Five(5) for Sporting Lisbon, 118 for Manchester United, 450 for Real Madrid and 95 for Juventus. He has also scored 120 goals for country, Portugal, EKO HOT BLOG gathered.
Ronaldo achieves this feat on the back of a Champions League round of 16 knockout in the hands of FC Porto where he took to his Instagram handle to reiterate the desire for him and Juventus to come back stronger in a post where he said
“more important than the number of falls you take on life, is how fast and how strong you get back on your feet… True!”
“Champions never break, our focus is already in Cagliari, in the Serie A struggle, in the Italian Cup final and in everything that we can still achieve this season” he added.
In another post where he expressed his joy after his 57th career hat-trick that breaks Pele’s record, he wrote
“I’m filled with joy and pride as I acknowledge the goal that puts me on top of the World’s goal scoring list, overcoming Pele’s record, something that I could never have dreamed of while growing up as a child from Madeira”.
