Guardiola, who shares three adult children with Cristina, has frequently stayed at their family home, an £8.4 million mansion in one of Barcelona’s most exclusive neighbourhoods, whenever he returns to the city from his base in Manchester.

It is unclear where Guardiola will reside in Barcelona in the future, although he currently stays at the Deansgate CitySuites in central Manchester when not in Spain.

Cristina is expected to remain in the family home, which was once owned by Guardiola’s former Mexican centre-back, Rafa Márquez. Guardiola purchased the four-story mansion in February 2021 for €10 million (£8.4 million) from a Russian businessman.

The property, located in the upscale area of Carretera de les Aigues, features over 22,000 square feet of land and an 8,000 square foot house with a large swimming pool.

The mansion’s purchase raised speculation in the Catalan press about a potential return to Barcelona, especially following Joan Laporta’s election as president. Cristina Serra moved into the property two years after leaving Manchester to return to her hometown.

Spanish news outlet El Confidencial noted that the mansion provided a secluded space for the couple, who had spent Christmas together at the property with their three children—Maria, 24; Marius, 22; and 17-year-old Valentina. Despite their separation, the couple’s time at the mansion in 2021 marked a significant point of physical distance between them.

In Manchester, Guardiola resides at Deansgate CitySuites, a 16-story building with 237 privately-owned one- and two-bedroom apartments, where he spends some of his downtime away from football duties.
