This medium had reported how thugs attacked Jandor’s campaign train along Badagry road in Lagos on Sunday.
The PDP subsequently blamed the attack, which reportedly injured three persons, on thugs sponsored by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Reacting to the attack in a statement, Prince Gomez condemned the attack, describing it as unacceptable.
The Lagos Central senatorial candidate, therefore, called on relevant security agencies to stem the tide of violence before it leads to the breakdown of law and order.
“I received with shock the recent attack on the campaign train of our party’s Governorship Candidate in the state, Dr. Abdul Azeez Olajide Adediran aka Jandor by suspected thugs from the opposition party along Badagry road,” he said.
“This is coming on the heels of similar reported malicious attack on the party’s presidential campaign office in Zamfara state which claimed lives. These developments are totally condemnable and unacceptable!
“We call on the various security agencies in the state to rise to the occasion and stem this ugly tide before it escalates to a wide spread violence, civil unrest and breakdown of law and order.
“The perpetrators of these dastardly act against Jandor’s campaign train must be brought to book to calm frayed nerves and douse tension.”
Prince Gomez, who symphathised with Jandor over the incident, also warned the attackers that the PDP will not stand by and do nothing while its members are subjected to violent attacks.
“Let the assailants know that no one has the monopoly of violence and that the party will not fold its arms while its candidates and members are subjected to frequent unprovoked, instigated, malicious and violent attacks,” he said.
