The former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, and the Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, have announced a significant stakeholders meeting for the party.
The Labour Party Extended Stakeholders Meeting is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, September 4th, at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Umuahia.
According to Dodoh Okafor, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Alex Otti on Public Communication, the purpose of the meeting is to strengthen and improve the Labour Party, ensuring it becomes a “stronger and better Labour Party.”

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the circular for the meeting highlights the key stakeholders expected to attend, including Peter Obi, Governor Alex Otti, former vice presidential candidate Datti Baba-Ahmed, and the Julius Aburi-led executive team. The meeting will also involve Senators and House of Representatives members of the party, among others.
The circular further details the participants, including three representatives from the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and three from the Trade Union Congress (TUC), who are members of the National Executive Council of the Labour Party.
Other notable attendees include the Deputy Governor of Abia State, all serving and former Senators and House of Representatives members affiliated with the party, as well as all serving members of State Houses of Assembly.
Additionally, five members of the Aburi-led National Working Committee, including the National Chairman, Deputy National Chairman, Secretary, Woman Leader, and Youth Leader, will be present. Gubernatorial candidates from Edo and Ondo states, as well as former gubernatorial candidates representing the six geopolitical zones, are also expected to participate.
