EKO HOT BLOG reports that in response to recent social media attacks on Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 general elections, has expressed his condemnation.
Obi has also distanced himself and members of the Obidients family from what he describes as a campaign of calumny originating from opposition ranks.

The statement from the Obi-Datti Media Office, signed by the Head of the Media Office, Diran Onifade, conveyed Obi’s stance on the matter.
According to the statement released on Wednesday, Obi and his supporters hold deep respect for Pastor Adeboye and are not involved in any form of social media harassment targeting the esteemed man of God, particularly in relation to a statement he did not make.
The statement further addressed a recurring pattern observed, where desperate political operatives orchestrate deceptive actions and attribute them to Peter Obi’s supporters, as part of the opposition’s subterfuge strategy that has consistently failed.
The statement appealed to fellow Nigerians to disregard the antics of those involved in election rigging, who believe that undermining Peter Obi is their method of securing a stolen mandate. It emphasized that personal insults are not characteristic of Peter Obi and that he does not encourage his followers to engage in such behavior.
